Previously viewed movies.

The Ringer. I liked it – really funny (and it’s easy to see that it was done in good fun with good people).

Proof. I liked it a lot. Jake Gyllenhaal and Gwyneth Paltrow are so good and they look so cute together.

Winter’s Passing. Wouldn’t recommend it. It’s almost as if it were trying to be Proof – except it was pretty lame. It’s too bad too because I like Ed Harris and Will Farrel.

Saipan Sucks, but it sure is beautiful!

Some stuff I did this weekend.

On Saturday I went to the Sabalu Market and then the park with my sister and her two youngest kids. Here’s Mele running free.

We saw hundreds of little crabs with big red claws, well with one big red claw each. I tried to get close to take a picture and I stepped in the mud. I was so stuck that my sister had to help pull me out….I thought my foot was going to come straight out of my shoe….wow, it’s a good thing I wore sneakers, I’d have been so bummed if I were in zorries. You can see my foot prints in the pic below – my whole left foot sunk right in, so much so that it was still there two days later when I took this picture. If you click on the pic you might see it better and you might see some of the crabs.
Then we went home and ate nice ripe mangoes.
James and I went back to the park with Katelyn on Sunday.

My sister and her husband wanted to bbq – as they usually do on Sunday afternoons if Ed is off. So here’s James, Katelyn, and Mele in the yard in the late afternoon while the fire was getting hot.

James is eating my sister’s famous Poke while Katelyn munches on a cracker.

Melia and I went back to the park on Monday with the kids. Here’s Maui pushing his stoller along the path. He later decided to help me push his baby cousin’s stroller along – it was so cute!
And finally, after running all of my errands for work (even though it was a holiday), I took Katelyn to get her first haircut. She did so well!
And that’s that.

I can be such an airhead.

I constantly mess up while speaking. On Saturday at the park I said to my neice as we were racing (I was pushing a stoller), “Uh oh, Katleyn’s driver is slowing down cause there’s a shoe in her foot.” I meant that there was a rock in my shoe.

At work, if I don’t write things down I usually forget to do them.

I don’t understand everything my husband says to me because my vocabulary is not as robust as his.

I’ve gotten song lyrics wrong my whole life. When I was a kid I used to sing “…lady in red, is dancing with me, chi-tah-ta-chi…” It wasn’t until high school that I realized the line is “…cheek to cheek.”

But I didn’t think I was that airheadish….until now.

I enabled comment moderation on this blog a few months ago because I received some stupid comment trying to sell me crap. And just last night I told James that no one comments on my blog even though I know I have a few readers. Then today I just realized I had like 5 comments waiting in this comment moderation page of dashboard. *Duh!* Stupid.

A few things that made today great:

1. My camera started working again! It actually started working yesterday, but I got a new memory card today and now it’s awesome!

2. I usually only eat banana bunelos, but today I ate some plain bunelos – and they were so good!

3. I heard Ice Ice Baby on the radio, then a few songs later I heard Plush.

4. Franklin finished making all 4,000 copies of our newspaper inserts for Tuesday’s paper so I don’t have to come in to work on Saturday to finish up.

5. I went to Joeten and didn’t realize there was a sale this evening! Among other things, I bought diet sprite and some soy milk – they’ve been out of both for some time now. And I also bought two trays of sashimi for $2.52 each…which leads me to number 6.

6. This was dinner: And it only cost me $2.52. I remember being in LA and seeing the crazy high prices for sashimi in restaurants so I rarely ordered it. And when I did, I would just feel guilty.

Stuff I do.

I’ve made blankets for each of my sister’s kids. I’m still working on Katelyn’s – I hope to get it done sometime this year, I just don’t have the time to work on it like I used to.

Mele’s Blanket

Ikaika’s Blanket

Maui’s Blanket

Shakira…more like Shakermit!

…James didn’t get it either. I told him it’s because Shakira sounds like Kermit the Frog when she sings. He thinks she sounds more like Fozzy Bear. What do you think?

Saipan Sucks, but it sure is beautiful!

She cut off his WHAT??

James told me that scientists have found a way to regenerate a rabbit penis.

I said to him, “Why would they need that? So a guy can cut off his penis and it’ll grow back?” And James said, “No, so a guy can cut it off and grow back a rabbit’s penis.”

Come on. That’s funny.

Saipan Sucks but it sure is beautiful!

Amazing baby.

Katelyn Rebecca took her first steps this evening! We’ve been waiting for this.

As a working mother, I always worry that she’s going to do her ‘first’ everything while I’m at work and I’ll miss out on so much. But God is good, and knows how much I want to be a part of these moments. I was with her the first time she crawled, I heard her first word, I was even right next next to her when she stood by herself for the first time – I didn’t see it, but I was right there…hahaha. And I was there this evening when she took her first wobbly steps away from me and into her father’s arms.

Comfort Food

Earlier this evening as I was eating what was left of James food from D’elegance…

James: Why do you eat more than me?
Me: I eat for comfort.
James: So you’re eating, but you’re not hungry.
Me: I guess so…it’s comfort food.
James:
Me: Ok, I’m done, I’ll stop.
James: Why’re you so uncomfortable?

Let’s Go.

I now know that 4 of the 6 people in my department are thinking about leaving. Wow.

Special Colbert Report

Google Video: Colbert Roasts President Bush

Oh my gosh – he’s so funny!

Stuff to see…or not.

Everything is Illuminated was finally available at Blockbuster. I liked it a lot.

Hmm, what else did we watch….something stupid I think….oh right, November. It was stupid. I don’t care for stupid artsy fartsy movies that are stupid.

I love the smell of senbe in the morning.

…er, um, I mean in the afternoon. Even if you want to eat your rice crackers in peace, you can’t. There’s no containing it’s sharp aroma. Once you break open the bag, the smell of it’s pika saltiness penetrates every nostril in the building.

Within minutes someone will find her way down the hall and soon peek into your office. “I want some senbe,” you’ll hear her say over the rice cracker crunching sounds in your head. So you grab the bag and pass it over.

Weekend Movies

Here’s my review of The Family Stone exactly the way I told James I would write it: Family Stone, stupid movie.

New Guy. Funny at first, but in the end it wasted my time.

Shop Girl. I liked it.

Watch this!

I saw MI3 yesterday. It was good. Funny and exciting.

I also saw Heaven. Uh, it was ok until the end. Ruined it for me. I get it….I just don’t like it.
